Ok we admit it, we are extremely lucky to be in such a beautiful part of the world; buying this cabane has offered us so many opportunities.
Why are we so lucky? Because cabanes here don't come up for sale that often. There are families that have come to this region for 70 years. Cabanes are passed down through multiple generations.
And it's quite easy to see why, the region is fantastic, the people are lovely and you couldn't honestly want to be anywhere else in the world.
This article in The Telegraph sum up Val D'Anniviers quite nicely:
“the limited number of skiers in the Val d’Anniviers is a large part of its appeal for a clutch of… emigrants, who came here seeking an authentic Alpine skiing experience and found they couldn’t leave.“
Bearing in mind this article was written back in 2013 the region still has the very same appeal; and yes the road from Sierre to Zinal still terrifies and amazes in equal measure!
